Influence of Inorganic Arsenic on the Condition of the Patients with Arsenism Caused by Burning Coal and other Related Factors

This paper analyzed the influence on arsenism of total arsenic (Tot-As) and inorganic arsenic (In-As) in urine, the ratio of In-As to Tot-As(In-As/Tot-As), arsenic in hair and other related factors. The results showed that the increased accumulation of arsenic and the gradual decrease of detoxication in the patients might aggrevate arsenism.Severe arsenic pollution in air and food caused by burning hyperarsenic coal daily for long time, inferior improvement of stoves, poor supervision, less-developed economy and culture were the reasons for the continuous appearance of new arsenism patients, continuous deterioration of clinical manifestations of arsenism and the gradual increase of skin cancer. This paper preliminarily revealed the necessity to study In-As metabolism of the patients and made some suggestions for the comprehensive prevention and treatment of arsenism.
