Clinical significance of combined detection of serum IL-6, SAA,hs-CRP and PCT in children with mycoplasma pneumonia

Objective:To explore the value of combined detection of serum IL-6,SAA,hs CRP,and PCT in the differential diagnosis of mycoplasma pneumoniae infection and its combined bacterial and viral infection in children.Methods:A total of 349 children with mycoplasma pneumonia in ZiBo First Hospital from August 2017 to December 2019 were collected.The infection group was divided into simple MP group(161 cases),the combined with virus infection group(64 cases),and the combined bacterial infection group(94 cases),Fifty healthy children undergoing physical examination in ZiBo First Hospital during the same period were randomly selected as the healthy control group.In each group,pharyngeal swabs,sputum and serum were collected for MP-DNA detection,general bacterial culture and serum IL-6,SAA,hs-CRP,and PCT detection,respectively,to analyze the changes of serum inflammatory factors in children in each group.Results:The levels of IL-6,hs CRP,and PCT in the MP group and the MP combined bacterial group were significantly higher than those in the other groups(P<0.05),and the SAA level in MP combined with virus group was significantly higher,compared with other groups,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the MP group and the MP combined with bacterial infection group,the levels of IL-6,hs CRP,and PCT in MP combined with bacterial infection group were significant higher than those in MP group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combined detection of serum IL-6,SAA,hs CRP,and PCT can be used as a differential diagnosis index for children with mycoplasma pneumonia complicated with other pathogens.The combined detection results have practical value for etiology diagnosis,rational medication guidance,efficacy evaluation,and prognosis judgment.
