Effect of Orem Support Education System on Self-management Ability and Hope Level in Patients with Stroke Hemiplegia

Objective:To explore the effect of the Orem support education system on self-management ability and hope level in patients with stroke hemiplegia.Methods:A total of 80 patients with stroke hemiplegia admitted during July 1,2018 to July 1,2020 were divided into the observation group with 43 cases and the control group with 37 cases by the random number table method.The control group was given routine nursing,while the observation group was given nursing intervention based on Orem support education system on basis of the control group.The gait by Tinetti gait scale,balance function by Berg balance scale(BBS),quality of life by SS-QOL,self-management ability and hope level before and after intervention were compared between the two groups.Results:After intervention,the scores of Tinetti,BBS and SS-QOL were higher than those before intervention(P<0.05),and higher in the observation group than those in the control group(P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion:Orem support education system can significantly improve the gait and balance function in patients with stroke hemiplegia,improve self-management ability and hope level,and thus improve their quality of life.
