| Abstract: | OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Danggui Buxue Decoction (DBD) on proliferation and expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). METHODS: After treating HUVECs with various concentrations of DBD, we analyzed the proliferation phase of HUVECs and the expression of ICAM-1 using flow cytometry. RESULTS: It was found that DBD could promote the proliferation of HUVECs and the expression of ICAM-1. The expression of CD54 (ICAM-1) was significantly increased in the experiment groups as compared with that in the control group (P < 0.05). In addition, cell cycle analysis revealed more synthetic period cells in the experiment groups than in control group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: DBD can promote the proliferation of HUVECs and Increase the expression ICAM-1. |
