Establishing clinical guidelines or standards may facilitate internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).When drafting guidelines,several principles should be followed: ①Realizing which organization will eventually release the guidelines is the primary point;②TCM international diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines and standards can be inferior to the domestic ones;③Clear technology roadmap is central to drafting guidelines and standards in methodology;④International TCM clinical guidelines and standards require evidence with TCM feature;⑤The safety and efficacy issues of the recommended herbal medicine concerned by foreign experts should be noticed;⑥English translation should be simple,clear and appropriate.
