Sterisch gehinderte Pyridiniumsalze, 1. Mitt. Die basenkatalysierte C-Alkylierung von 2,6-Lutidin-Methojodid

Steric Hindered Pyridinium Salts, I Base Catalysed C-Alkylation of 2,6-Lutidine Methiodide Sodium hydride catalysed alkylation of 1,2,3-trimethylpyridinium iodide (1a) with methyl iodide leads to the pyridinium salt 1e with much higher yield than the quaternisation of the pyridine 2e with methyl fluorosulfonate. The preparation of the hindered pyridinium salts 1b–1e is reported.
