Application of Orem self-care model in hyperbaric oxygen treatment of neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy

Objective To explore the application value of Orem self-care model in hyperbaric oxygen therapy of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods 86 neonates with HIE who received hyperbaric oxygen therapy in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2019 were randomly divided into the study group and the control group,with 43 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing intervention,while the study group was given routine nursing intervention combined with Orem self-care model.The mental development index(MDI)and psychomotor development index(PDI),NHISS scores in different time periods and the incidence of neonatal neurological sequelae were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention.Results MDI and PDI scores in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group on the 7th and 14th day from birth,the NHISS score in the study group was lower(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the total incidence was lower in the study group(P<0.05).Conclusion Orem self-care model in hyperbaric oxygen therapy can improve mental and psychomotor development of neonates with HIE,which is conducive to clinical application and promotion.
