| Abstract: | AIM: To investigate the possible molecular mechanism of Wuling Powder (Polyporus, Rhizoma alismatis, Rhizoma atractylodis macrocephalae, Poria, Ramulus cinnamoni) for reducing proteinuria in rats with Adriamycin-induced nephrosis ADR rat. METHODS: After orally administrated for four weeks, ADR rats were measured the expression of endothelin receptor A (ETAR) in renal tissue, by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR method. RESULTS: The expressions of ETAR protein and mRNA in ADR rats increased obviously (in comparison with control rats, P<0.05), which decreased in Wuling Powder administrated rats (in comparison with ADR rats, P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Wuling Powder could inhibit the enhanced renal expression of ETAR protein and mRNA in ADR rats, contributed to reduction in proteinuria. |
