Problems and Related Suggestions of Hospital Pharmaceutical Practice Based on the Diagnosis-Related Groups

Objective To investigate the related problems of hospital pharmaceutical practice based on the diagnosis-related groups(DRGs).Methods The implementation of DRGs in the hospitals in China,the role of DRGs in hospital pharmacy,the problems and challenges of hospital pharmacy in the implementation of DRGs were analyzed and summarized.Results and Conclusion There are differences in the degree of informatization between hospitals and their pharmaceutical work,and the degree of informatization lags behind the implementation requirements of DRGs.The hospital managers and pharmacists have different cognition of DRGs and inconsistent standards for diagnosis and treatment,and the cost management system needs to be improved.DRGs payment system may affect the development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)hospital pharmacy,and the differences of DRGs in disease grouping in different departments lead to differences in drug treatment and pharmaceutical care.It is suggested that the national and local authorities should take the top-level design as the starting point to formulate relevant policies and measures and a series of training measures,and take certain compensation mechanism for TCM when implementing DRGs on the premise of unifying the disease names of TCM and Western medicine,so as to avoid the low consumption indexes of time/cost of a disease relative to that of similar diseases coded as high case-mix index(CMI),and make drug treatment and pharmaceutical care more reasonable and effective,and the pharmacists need to understand and master DRGs knowledge to continuously improve the pharmaceutical practice service in the hospital.
