Efficacy Observation of Blunt Needling Acupuncture Therapy in Treating Lumbar Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Objective:To investigate the effect of blunt needling acupuncture therapy in lumbar myofascial pain syndrome(MPS).Methods:A total of 60 patients with lumbar MPS were randomly divided into two groups according to the ratio of 1∶1.The blunt needling acupuncture group was treated with blunt needling acupuncture,and the general needling acupuncture group was treated with general needling acupuncture.Each course of treatment was treated 6 times and for 2 consecutive courses.After treatment,visual analogue pain scale(VAS)and Roland Morri Disability Questionnaire(RMDQ)were compared between two group.Results:Compared with before treatment,after treatment,the VAS score in the blunt needling acupuncture group decreased by(4.17±1.53)points,and those in the general needling acupuncture group decreased by(3.33±1.40)points,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the VAS score of the blunt needling acupuncture group was lower than that of the general needling acupuncture group,while the VAS difference was higher than that of the general needling acupuncture group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,after treatment,the RMDQ score in the blunt needling acupuncture group decreased by(10.80±2.34)points,and those in the general needling acupuncture group decreased by(8.63±2.91)points,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the RMDQ score of the blunt needling acupuncture group was lower than that of the general needling acupuncture group,while the RMDQ difference was higher than that of the general needling acupuncture group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate was93.33%in the blunt needling acupuncture group and 80.00%in the general needling acupuncture group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in safety between two group(P>0.05),both two with good safety.Conclusion:Compared with general needling acupuncture,blunt needling acupuncture has better effect in improving lumbar pain and lumbar dysfunction caused by lumbar MPS.
