高等教育出版社近期推出的《中国历史》(六卷本)是教育部“面向21世纪课程教材”和普通高等教育“九五”国家级重点教材。该书由著名史学家张岂之先生主编 ,汇聚数十名史学专家 ,历时七载 ,数易其稿 ,精心撰著而成。与已往历史教材相比 ,该书呈现出下列特点 :一、内容全面、丰富 ,史料可靠、可信 ,论述平实、公允 ,文字明白晓畅。二、吸取史学研究的新成果 ,重新认识中国古代史和近代史 ,不断校正过去的偏颇 ,体现出与时共进的显著特点。三、继承了史论结合的修史系统 ,所作议论要言不繁 ,恰到好处。

New Century, New History: A Review of the Chinese History edited by Zhang Qizhi

The Chinese History (six-volume edition) recently published by the Higher Education Press is a key textbook recommended by the Education Commission for the 21st century curriculum design and the ninth five-year general higher education. The book is edited chiefly by the prominent historiographer Zhang Qizhi, and it took dozens of history experts seven years to compile and revise before it finally takes the present shape. Unlike the earlier historical textbooks, this one is characterized by the full and rich content, reliable historical data, fair and square discussion, and plain words. By drawing on the latest results of the historic studies, reconsidering the ancient and modern Chinese history and revising the earlier biases, the book presents distinct features compatible with the present time. It also abides by the rule of associating history with reasoning, and makes brief and appropriate comments.
