Update on remote ischemic conditioning for myocardial protection

Background Remote schemic conditioning has been accepted as a noninvasive and endogenous way of myocardial protection by surgeons.Due to the limitation of time and ethics,it is not easy to perform this procedure when there is no acute organ ischemia in clinic.Objective To review the recent progress on the myocardial protection with remote ischemic conditioning.Content This article reviewed the history,evolution,clinic application and the underlying mechanism of remote ischemic conditioning.Trend Remote ischemic conditioning will be a promising strategy for clinical use in thrombolytic therapy,angioplasty,cardiac surgery,and etc.
