Periodontal disease and its sequelae are characterized by severe attachment loss,tooth mobility,and migration.This pathology often leads to compromised function and esthetics.The severe absorption of mandibular alveolar caused by periodontal disease also challenges for implant restoration.But with the thorough research of implant design and improvement of implant methods,the implant restoration according to different alveolar condition also gradually consummates.This paper discussed the research progress of implant therapy for severe absorption of mandibular alveolar caused by periodontal disease.
