Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between morphological changes and earlier cerebral edema in rats accelerated at high altitude. Methods To divide the Wister rats into 3 groups(1d,3d and 7d)at plateau randomly and to observe the morphological changes of cerebral tissue by H-E staining. The brain histological changes were observed by microscope, the morphological changes of brain tissue were observed by Electron microscope. And at the same time, water contents of brain was determined. Results There were significant inflammatory reaction in cerebral tissue.Congestion and edema were shown in brain tissue and a great amount of inflammatory cells presented brain space under microscope. The apoptosis cells were shown under electron microscope.Cerebral water contents were increased in 1d,3d and 7d groups compared with control group(P〈0.05).Conclusions High altitude may cause cerebral tissue damage because of hypoxia, suggesting that hypoxia may increase brain capillary wall permeability and dysfunction of brain water transportation.
Keywords:Plateau  Apoptosis  Cerebral water  Contents  Brain edema
