Abstract:Objective: To study the relationship of changes of vascular endothelial cell (VEC), intric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET) with hypertension. Method: To detect the levels of circular endothelial cell (CEC), NO and ET in plasma of 30 senile hypertension patients and 24 normal senile persons, and then to campare the results between the two groups. Result: The levels of plasmatic CEC and ET of hypertension group were significantly higher than control group's (P<0. 01), but plasmatic NO level was obviouly lower than control group's (P<0. 01). NO level had a significant negative correlation with ET level (r = 0. 43,P<0. 01), and ET level had a sigfincant positive correlation with CEC level (r = 0. 49, P < 0. 01 ). Conclusion: Vascular endothelial cell injury occurs in senile hypertension patients. The changes of NO and ET levels may be related to hypertensive pathogeny.
