Abstract: | This article will address the vulnerability of children who are deaf to sexual abuse and treatment techniques specifically for this population. The experience of the author was at a large city outpatient program in a department of psychiatry. This clinic served families where someone in the family was deaf or hard of hearing. The pioneering efforts in the 1980s were some of the first treatment for this population and this is the basis for this article. |
