Abstract: | Congress and the Clinton administration are negotiating a continuing resolution to keep Federal AIDS programs funded and in operation through the remainder of the 1996 fiscal year. The House of Representatives approved a bill that includes $52 million in emergency appropriations for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. The Senate is considering a bill that provides emergency funding if the administration cuts funding in another program. The House and the Senate differ on how funding for AIDS research will be allocated at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). |
