| Abstract: | In the majority of patients, pancreatic resection is performed for a proved carcinoma or for a mass in the pancreas with clinical features of carcinoma. Preoperative preparation is similar to that for other cancer operations, and good nutritional status and normal clotting factors are important. In many patients with resectable lesions, preoperative histologic diagnosis is not possible. |
