Abstract:Objective To verify that pure tone audiometry and distortion product otoacoustic emission can be used as an early detection and detection method for hearing impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods From April 2018 to October 2018,39 cases(78 ears)of type 2 diabetes patients and 15(30 ears)healthy physical examinersin Tiantan Community Health Service Center were collected.First,the pure tone audiometry(PTA)was performed on the subjects in the observation group and the control group.Calculate the proportion of diabetic patients with normal or impaired hearing test in the observation group,and compare the difference between the main complaint and pure-tone audiometry in the observation group.Then,the subjects with normal pure tone audiometry in the observation group and the control group were selected to perform distortion product otoacoustic emission(DPOAE)detection respectively to compare the amplitude differences of different frequencies.Results In the observation group,54 ears who complained of normal hearing still had 32 ears(59.26%)with varying degrees of hearing loss after pure tone audiometry,and 23 ears(95.83%)of 24 ears who complained of hearing loss had hearing impairment.The difference between the chief complaint and pure tone audiometry was found to be statistically significant(χ2=24.645,P<0.05).The amplitudes of the two groups undergoing DPOAE testing were significantly different at each frequency point(P<0.05).Conclusion It is confirmed that pure tone audiometry and distortion product otoacoustic emission can be used as an early detection and detection method for hearing impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes.
