| Abstract: | Objective To observe the clinical outcomes of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF). Methods Forty cases(36 patients) underwent PKP from October 2009 to May 2012 were analyzed. Results Thirty-six cases in PKP were followed up for 3 months to 6 months.The height of injured vertebra increased 14.62±1.2mm and 23.16±1.14 mm for PKP respectively.The Cobb of injured vertebra increased 32.17°±1.32°and 15.3°±1.13°for PKP respectively.The VSA of injured vertebra increased 8.8±0.45 and 1.9±0.6 for PKP respectively. Conclusion PKP is reliable in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture. |
