Abstract: | SIR, We describe the case of a man with pre-existing peripheralpalsy who developed polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR); he was sparedarthritis in the affected limb but experienced reflex sympatheticdystrophy syndrome (rSDS) in the paretic arm. A 72-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of nocturnalpain in his right shoulder and the pelvic girdle, with long-lastingmorning stiffness, mild fever and weight loss.
