The British Coal Medical Service in the Selby Coalfield

The British Coal Selby project involved the development of sixmine sites with interconnected underground workings. This paperdescribes the development of medical services and the extensionof the Board's occupational health service into the new coalfield.Although the project has unique features it is to be hoped thatthis paper will be of interest to occupational physicians, particularlywith those involved in the creation of new facilities. ⁰Requests for reprints should be addressed to: Dr G.C.
