Abstract:Community-based organizations (CBOs) play a vital role in the provision of HIV prevention services across the country. Little is known about how CBOs interact to share prevention ideas and implement prevention activities. In this qualitative study we examine the ways in which CBOs share with one another prevention-related resources and ideas, and produce prevention programs. Utilizing a grounded theory approach to analysis, we develop a model to explain CBOs' relationships with their peers. Implications for working with CBOs are discussed.
