Objective To explore the correlation between maintain security servicemen's mental health and occupation stress and related factors in Peking Olympic Games, and observe the effect of the intervention to them who suffered troubles.Methods By cluster random sampling, 631 maintain security military personnel ( investigation group) and 587 army men not taking part in maintain security ( control group) were investigated with the Military Occupational Stress Scale and Mental Disorder Predictive Scale for Servicemen.Mental intervention or medication was performed to those produced mental disorders.Results (1) There were apparently statistical significance in factor scores of Mental Disorder Prediction Scale for Servicemen and Military Occupational Stress Scale between investigation group and control group ( P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01 ).( 2 ) Psychological diathesis and occupational stress of officers and soldiers in investigation group showed a positive correlation with mental disorders (psychoticism, depression, mania, neurosis and personality excursion) (r ranged from 0.14 to 0.70, P ＜0.01).(3) The psychological dys-defense, stressor, leadership, growth experience, personality introvert, marriage, military life experience and social support deficit were the main factors which had affected on mental health of officers and soldiers who attended the maintain security in Peking Olympic Games.Conclusion There is an obviously influence on mental health of officers and soldiers who attended the maintain security in Peking Olympic Games.
