Effects of Evidence-based Nursing on Catheter Related Infections of Maintenance Hemodialysis

Objective： To observe the effect of evident-based nursing on catheter related infections of maintenance hemodialysis.Method： Sixty patients were allocated into observation group and control group on average.Control group received conventional nursing while observation group were administered with evidence-based nursing.Infection incidence,retention time of catheter,satisfaction rate,habit of keeping catheter hygiene after care and condition of grasping associated knowledge were observed in both groups.Result： Infection incidence in observation group was 6.67%,lower than 16.67% in control group（P0.05）.Satisfaction rate in observation group was 100.00%,higher than 83.33% in control group（P0.05）.Retention time in observation group was longer than that in control group with a significant difference（P0.05）.Excellent rates in habit of keeping catheter hygiene after care and condition of grasping associated knowledge in observation group respectively were 86.67% and 83.33%,higher than 66.67% and 60.00% in control group.Conclusion： Evidence-based nursing can reduce the incidence of catheter related infection of maintenance hemodialysis,raise patients＇ nursing satisfaction,lengthen retention time of catheter as well as increase excellent rates in habit of keeping catheter hygiene and condition of grasping associated knowledge.
