| Abstract: | This paper explores the many aspects of the nature and measurement of the corneal surface. Its structure and the factors that influence it are described. The traditional techniques of keratometry are summarized and there is an emphasis on new experimental methods of determining corneal topography including moiré, holographic interferometric and profile techniques. The advantages and disadvantages of these procedures are considered. |
