Application of Case-based Teaching Model in the Teaching of Magnetic Resonance

Objective To investigate the application of the case-based teaching model in the teaching of magnetic resonance in medical imaging technology.Methods Two cohorts of students majoring in medical imaging technology have been studied.Taking the teaching of breast magnetic resonance imaging as an example,the first cohort took the traditional PPT multimedia teaching method,while the second cohort was taught with breast magnetic resonance fat suppression inhomogeneity as a case-based teaching model.Under the guidance of teachers,students were asked to identify problems,review literature,discuss,and conduct experiment based on the case.Theoretical assessment,learning interest,clinical thinking evaluations and satisfaction surveys have been carried out for the two cohorts of students.Results The theoretical assessment results,learning interest,performance of clinical thinking evaluations and satisfaction with the teaching of the second cohort were all significantly higher than those of the first cohort(P<0.05).Conclusion The case-based teaching model is feasible in teaching magnetic resonance in medical imaging technology,where students’ skills of analyzing and solving problems can be developed and the model can be promoted in other teaching areas.
