LABORATORY OBSERVATION ON KILLING OF YERSINIA ENTEROCOLITICA BY COMMONLY USED CHEMICAL DISINFECTANTS |

Abstract: | The killing effects of six disinfectants on Yersinia enterocolitica were observed in laboratory. The results indicated that the ten minute killing concentration of disinfectant was 0.002% for bleaching powder (5.66 mg/L available chlorine), 0.0015% for sodium dichloroisocyanurate(7.23mg/L available chlorine), 0.001% for peracetic acid, 0.1% for bromogcramine, 1% for lysol and 5% for lime milk. The resistance of Y. enterocolitica to these six disinfectants was similar to that of Escherichia coli. In spraying disinfection of surface of table, floor and wall, 0.1% bleaching powder, 0.05% sodium dichloroisocyanurate, 0.02% peracetic acid or 10% lime milk could completely kill Y. enterocolitica on the surface. In view of the complicated conditions in epidemic area, the concentration of the disinfectant used should be higher than that mentioned above. Y. enterocolitica on hands could be completely killed by immersing the hands in 0.1% bromogeramine or 1% lysol for 2 min. |
