Abstract:
A study is presented for the purpose of showing the change in vascular architecture of the human dental pulp with age. It is shown that as age increases, the number of vascular structures decreases, primarily at the expense of vessel reduction in the sub-odontoblastic layer of the pulp. It is demonstrated that the human pulp has a natural arterio-venous shunt system.
