Heart rate after coronary artery bypass grafting

Neurologic complications are common after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), although they are usually asymptomatic or produce only mild disability.¹ The potential involvement of the autonomic nervous system after CABG has, as far as we know, not been evaluated. Since the autonomic nervous system has important vasoregulatory and electrophysiologic effects, we evaluated the effect of CABG on autonomic nervous function using standard cardiovascular tests.²
