Efficacy analysis of linagliptin in adjuvant treatment of senile diabetes mellitus

Objective To analyze the efficacy and efficiency of linagliptin in adjuvant treatment of senile diabetes mellitus.Methods A total of 100 senile patients with diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into control group and observation group,with 50 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with metformin orally,and patients in the observation group was treated with metformin and linagliptin.Both groups were compared in terms of therapeutic effects,occurrence of adverse reactions and blood lipid indexestriglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)],blood glucose indicatorsglycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting blood glucose(FBG),2 h postprandial glucose(2 h PG)]before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate 96.00%in the observation group was higher than 80.00%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the TC(4.04±0.14)mmol/L,TG(1.31±0.5)mmol/L,and LDL-C(2.74±0.53)mmol/L of the observation group were lower than(5.02±0.15),(1.82±0.41),and(3.82±0.62)mmol/L of the control group,and the HDL-C(2.12±0.50)mmol/L was higher than(1.32±0.37)mmol/L of the control group.All the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the FBG(7.25±1.81)mmol/L,2 h PG(9.04±2.71)mmol/L,and HbA1c(6.22±1.21)mmol/L of the observation group were lower than(9.24±2.41),(11.15±5.29),and(8.36±1.45)mmol/L of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).No serious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups.Conclusion Linagliptin has definite clinical effect in the adjuvant treatment of senile diabetes mellitus,which can effectively regulate patients’blood lipid level,control blood glucose and improve prognosis without increasing adverse reactions,and has high safety.
