论中药的性能、性质及效能

本文探讨了中药性能、性质和效能的概念，区分性质与效能的依据和意义。提出中药性质是指药物的固有性质，是药物作用于机体感觉器官引起的各种感觉的综合，包括形、色、气、味及质地等，其实质是理化性质，是产生效能的物质基础。中药效能是药物作用于机体脏器组织或病原体、病理产物后产生的效应，包括四气、归经、升降浮沉、有毒无毒等，首次提出了区分性质与效能的９项依据，其中主要是药物作用的部位、因果关系及有无理论依据三者。其意义在于从理论上解决了二者长期混淆不清的问题，为中西医药结合找到了一个共同的理论基础。

A Discussion on the Action, Propergy and Efficacy of Chinese Materia Medica

The concepts on the action, property and effieaey of Chinese materiamedica were defined, and the evidence and significance for the distinctionbetween its property and efficaey were discussed in this paper. The propertyof Chinese materia medica is its intrinsic quality denoting a comprehensivesensation elicited by its action on the sense organs of the organism includingapp earance, colour, smell, flavour and quality. Actually it iS the physical andchemical characters of the drug and is the material basis of its efficacy. Theefficacy of Chinese materia medica is the effect produced by its action onthe viscera and tissues or the pathogens and pathological products,includingfour characters, meridian attribution, lifting, lowering, floating and sinking,and toxicity. The author proposes nine evidences for the distinction betweenproperty and efficacy, in which the part that the drug acts on,the causalityand the theoretical basis are the three important evidences.The significance of this paper is to solve the theoretical confusion betweenproperty and efficacy of Chinese materia medica in the past,and to providea common theoretical basis for the integration of traditional Chinese medicineand western medicine.
