Abstract:Objective To improve scientific research ability of undergraduate nursing students. Methods Sixty nursing students on a four-year baccalaureate program practicing in 2010 were randomly divided into two groups,with 30 students in each group.The control group were given one-to-one mentoring program to develop students′ research ability,while their counterparts in the experimental group additionally discussed papers published in SCI journals. Results Compared with the control group,more students in the experimental group were interested in research,willing to join in the research team,and they frequently reviewed literatures;research ability of students in the experimental group scored significantly higher,and their satisfaction with teaching of nursing research was significantly improved(P<0.05,P<0.01). Conclusion Scientific research ability of undergraduate nursing students can be promoted by discussing papers published in SCI journals.
