Abstract:We have examined the distribution of endogenous mouse mammary tumor virus-specific DNA in the genome of A/HeJ mice by using molecular hybridization and restriction endonucleases to analyze DNA from mouse-hamster hybrid clones that segregate mouse chromosomes. We have found that MMTV sequences are located on at least three separate chromosomal pairs, including chromosome number four.
