Zusammenfassung Carbromid (Bromäthylbutyramid), ein quantitativ bedeutsamer Metabolit des Carbroma, verminderte die Kontraktilität elektrisch gereizter und die Frequenz spontan schlagender Vorhöfe von Meerschweinchen. Die negativ inotrope Wirkung von Carbromid trat bei Konzentrationen auf, die bei menschlichen Carbromalvergiftungen durchaus erreicht werden. Die kardiodepressiven Wirkungen von Carbromid und Carbromal dürften dür den Verlauf und den Ausgang schwerer Carbromalvergiftungen von Bedeutung sein.

Cardiotoxicity of bromethylbutyramide (Carbromide)

Bromethylbutyramide (Carbromide), a quantitatively important metabolite of carbromal, diminished the contractility of electrically driven and the frequency of spontaneously beating guinea-pig atria. The negative inotropic action of bromethylbutyralide occurred at concentrations which are reached in human carbromal poisoning. The cardiodepressive actions of bromethylbutyramide and carbromal may be important for the course and the ending of severe carbromal intoxications.
