| Abstract: | Ninety-eight cases of neurological compression of the lumbar spine due to metastasis are reported. Depending on the level of the lesion the authors recognize two groups of patients: both medullary and root compression (Group A) or root compression alone (Group B). The authors suggest surgical treatment either when there is neurological damage or in order to prevent neurological damage -"prophylactic" surgery. |
