| Abstract: | Positron emission tomography demonstrates different abnormalities of cerebral metabolism or characteristic disturbances of neurotransmission systems in "cortical" and "subcortical" dementias. Those patterns may reflect the underlying anatomopathology, but may also give clues to the pathophysiology of a disease and its symptoms. |
