Effect of the autologous bone marrow derived stem cell transplantation on the neurogenic bladder of the patients with spinal cord injury: a case report of the change of urodynamic profile of one spinal card injury patient before and after transplantation

Objective To investigate the effect of autologous bone marrow derived stem cell transplantation on the neurogenic bladder of the patients with spinal card injury.Methods One patient with spinal cord injury were treated by autologous bone marrow derived stem cell transplantation for 9 times 13 day after injury.The urodynamic profile was measured after and before treatment.Results Twenty-six days after injury,maximum urethra pressure,maximal urethral closure pressure and maximum bladder capacity increased obviously.One hundred and forty days after treatment,recovery of bladder sensibility was observed in this patient.Detrusor muscle contraction could be induced,and maximum pressure could reach 30 cm H2O（10 cmH2O=0.98 kPa）.Conclusion In acute period of spinal card injury,regular autologous bone marrow derived stem cell transplantation may improve neurogenic bladder symptoms effectively.
