| Abstract: | Objective To sum up the experience in diagnosing and treating de novo gastric cancer after liver transplantation（LT）.Methods The clinical data of one patient with de novo gastric cancer among the 726 patients undergoing LT from August 2003 to December 2009 were analyzed.Results The incidence of de novo gastric cancer after LT in our institution was 0.14 %（1/726）.The patient（male） underwent liver transplantation at the age of 57 and developed de novo gastric cancer 36 months later after LT.He survived for 7 months after gastric cancer diagnosis.The patient died of tumor progression and multiple organ failure eventually.Conclusion The incidence of de novo gastric cancer after LT is low as a whole.The delayed diagnosis is a main cause of death for patients with de novo gastric cancer after LT.Follow-up post-transplantation,early diagnosis,early treatment are the keys to improve the therapeutic effect. |
