| Abstract: | Indications for operative procedures, preoperative preparation, operative methods and postoperative management of the patients are discussed on the basis of an experience with the surgical treatment of 46 patients with morbid obesity. The surgical treatment is believed by the authors to be indicated for morbid obesity of the IIIrd and IVth stages when conservative measures proved to be unsuccessful. Positive results were obtained in most the patients operated upon. Two patients died after operation. |
