Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between serum cho-lesterol(CHO),triglyeride(TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C) levels and impulsive aggression of the first episode of patients with schizophrenia.Method According to impusive aggression in the past violence history and rating on the modified overt aggression scale(MOAS),80 the first onset of in-patients with schizophrenia were divided into research group and control group.Serum lipid levels and brief psychiatric rating scals(BPRS) were compared between two groups. Results There is significanly lower CHO level in research group than in control. The HDL-C level, the total score of BPRS and its factors scores including irriability, hoslility and harbour suspicion in reseach groups were higher than in controls. Conclusion It is indicated that impulsive aggression might relate to low CHO or high HDL-C level in patients with schizophrenia.
Keywords:Schizophrenia  Impulsive aggression  Serum lipid level
