Surgery Therapy of Limbs Artery Thrombosis Associated with High Altitude Polycythemia

Objective: To deal with the diagnosis and treatment of limbs artery thrombosis(LAT) in patients with high altitude polycythemia(HAPC).Methods:12 patients with HAPC associated with LAT underwent the Arteriotomy Fogarty catheter embolectomy,and the blood test,function of coagulation,CTA and clinical features of intra-operation and post-operation were assessed.Results:10 of 12 cases had thrombosis between lilac and femoral artery;2 cases had thrombosis between upper left subclavian and axillary artery.The mean Hb and HCT level was 23.5g/L and 70.6% in 12 cases,respectively.8 of 12 cases were discharged after operation and anti-coagulation treatment;meanwhile,2 cases sustained limb pain,2 cases were not restored.Conclusions:The LAT occurred easily in starting of limbs artery.HCT>70% and older patients were normally the risk facts.Early surgery treatment is a good way.
