| Abstract: | Microemulsion is becoming a hot topic in the field of pharmaceutics, which was used to transport the drug into and across the skin barrier to show a local or a systemic effect. The authors summarized the mechanism, influ- ence factors and the evaluation method of microemulsion in the dermal and transdermal drug delivery. The recent prog- ress in the microemulsion system for topical drug delivery was reviewed. |
