Abstract: | Low-titer agglutinins to Sporothrix schenckii were demonstrated in the sera of dogs, cats, rats (Wistar), guinea pigs, hamsters, white rabbits, swine, horses, cattle, sheep, chickens, and goats as well as in the human sera of nonsporotrichotic individuals. It is hypothesized that the presence of agglutinins is due to a response to various bacteria which share common antigens with S. schenckii. |
