Community-based rehabilitation in the Lao People's Democratic Republic

An overview of the demography of the Lao People's Democratic Republic along with estimates of disability prevalence are given. The legislative response of the central government to disability and handicap is also described. The implementation, organization and manpower of the community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programme is discussed and illustrated using a case study from the Luang Prabang Province.
