The Phenotype Rhod: Study of Another Family

A case is described in which an Rh_o-positive Negro woman suffered a transfusion reaction. Her serum was found to contain anti-rh", anti-Fy^a, anti-Jk^b and an antibody resembling anti-Rh_o. A family investigation showed that the propositus and two of her five children belong to the pheno- type Rh_o^d. This evidence gives further support to the theory that the agglutinogen Rh_o^d is determined by a corresponding allelic gene R ^od.
