| Abstract: | Objective To evaluate the adjunctive effect of hyaluronic acid on dental implants with peri-implantitis.Methods 34 implants with peri-implantitis in 18 patients were randomly divided into two groups:experimental group treated with ultrasonic scaling and hyaluronic acid;control group treated with ultrasonic scaling and iodine glycerol.All parameters including plaque index(PLI),sulcular bleeding index(SBI),probing depth(PD) were measured at baseline,1,2 and 4 weeks after treatment.Results The experimental group resulted in a significant reduction in PLI and in SBI compared to those in the control group(P<0.05).Hyaluronic acid also showed a higher efficiency on peri-implantitis than iodine glycerol.Conclusion Hyaluronic Acid has a more significant effect and shorter time on peri-implantitis. |
