Clinical value of peripherally inserted central catheter guided with the color Doppler ultrasound

Objective To explore the clinical value of peripherally inserted central catheter guided with the color Doppler ultrasound.Methods With the color Doppler ultrasound-guided technique,we conduct PICC through the upper limb deep vein or superficial vein in 50 patients,in another 50 patients we conduct PICC with traditional blind puncture through the upper limb superficial vein.Results The one-time and two-time successful rate of PICC with the color Doppler ultrasound-guided technique is 88% and 100%,the mean puncture time is 22.5±3.4 min;the one-time and two-time successful rate of PICC with traditional blind puncture is 60% and 80%,the mean puncture time is 37.2±4.6min.Conclusion The success rate of PICC with the color Doppler ultrasound-guided technique is higher,and provide a reliable approach for the patients who are in need of long time infusion.
