| Abstract: | The auther reported expression of ifte r-myc gate was studled by RNA dot - blot hybridization in tumor specimens from 15 patients with promary thyraid caremomas , 3 patients with thyroid adenomas , tissues from 5 normal thyroid tissues P dATP labeled prohe of c - myc fragment of cloned gene was used to hybridize with the cellular total RNA We found that in 9 of the 15 cancer patients , c- myc proto- oncogene was over -expressed (3-11 times higher chan that in normal thyroid tissues ). Patients whose tumors showed c- myc overexpression had a greater madenec for the thyroid carcinoma prognosis indexes more than or equal to 66 than other patients (P<0.05). It suggests that overexpression of c -myc proto - oncogene may be associated with unfavourable prognosis of thyroid carcinoma . |
