Clinical observation on 64 cases of anorexia in children with spleen and stomach weakness type treated by five-step pediatric tuina

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of five-step pediatric tuina in the treatment of anorexia in children with spleen and stomach weakness type.Methods From April 2018 to June 2019,127 children admitted into outpatient service of tuina department in Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine were chosen and divided into treatment group with 64 cases and control group with 63 cases according to random number table method.The 2 groups were given basic nursing and oral administration of zinc gluconate oral solution,on this basis,the control group was given routine pediatric tuina therapy while the treatment group was given five-step pediatric tuina.After 8 weeks of treatment,the TCM symptom scores,clinical efficacy,blood zinc and hemoglobin(Hb)levels of the 2 groups were observed.Results Before treatment,the difference was not statistically significant in the main symptom scores and minor symptom scores between the 2 groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable.After treatment,the main symptom scores and minor symptom scores in the 2 groups improved significantly,and the difference was statistically significant compared with the same group before treatment(P<0.01),moreover,the improvement in the treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).The recovery rate of the control group was 1.59%(1/63),that of the treatment group was 10.94%(7/64),and the difference between the 2 groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in the blood zinc and Hb levels between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable.After treatment,the blood zinc and Hb levels of the 2 groups significantly increased,and the difference was statistically significant compared with those of the same group before treatment(P<0.01),moreover,the increase of the treatment group was more significant(P<0.05).Conclusion It can markedly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of the children patients,increase blood zinc and Hb levels with marked efficacy,convenient operation and easy acceptance by children patients to use five-step pediatric tuina in the treatment of anorexia in children with spleen and stomach weakness type,which deserves clinical promotion and application.
